Brief Roach Genealogy:

Samuel Milton Roach married Hannah Woodman. Married 1871. Dirt farmers, Berlin, southern Michigan. Children: Emma (married Edgar Mickam, Grand Rapids, sons Riley and Merrill), Mina (married Asa Brown, children Evelyn, Beaulla, Mabel [b.9-23-1905], Ruth, Justin), Richard Franklin Roach, Jennie (married Frank Brown [Asa Brown's brother], children Edna), Ora (married Spencer Clark, children Robert Samuel and Esther Louise, Joe, Geneva, Myrtle).

Richard Franklin Roach (1878-1939) married Ingeborg (Belle) Mathilde Torgerson [Torgersen]** (8-3-1878 in Larvik-1957). Married 1904. Children: Franklin Evans Roach*, Lawrance, Alice, Richard Campbell Roach. R.F.R "was a quiet, undemonstrative man. He earned a living as a salesman and bookkeeper in a jewelry store (Haakons in Rogers Park) on the north side of Chicago...he progressed to the point of earning the degree 'Doctor of Optometry'."

* (Franklin Evans Roach (b. 9-23-1905, Jamestown, Michigan) married 1st wife Eloise Blakslee Roach (?-1976). Children by Eloise (my cousins "once removed"): John, Janet [Jan], Charlotte [Vedeler-Roach], Gerry). 2nd wife Janet Gorden-Roach (married F.E.R. 1977. Grandchildren (my generation): Victoria, Steven, Sharilyn, Deborah, Pamela, Sandra. Great-grandchildren: Kindlelyn, Chad, Morgan, Natalie, Johnathan S., Joshua, Ryan, Johnathan A., Katherine, Emily, Jefferson.)

** (Lars Torgerson [Torgersen], born in Notteroy, Norway in 1834, and Christine Dorthea Knudsdatter [Knudsen], born in Larvik. Lars was captain of a sailing vessel during the mid to late part of the 19th Century. His homeport was Larvik on the Oslo Fjord. Oslo was then called Christiania. Christine and Lars' children: Anna, Laura [married evangelist William Evans, kids Louis, Oren, Paul, Dorothy], Marie [married Alf Brahams/Abrahamson with kids Raymond, Marion, Webster/Bill, George, Dorothy, Grace], Belle [Ingeborg], Katherine [Kate], and Jack [Jacob], and "7th child". Lars had a brother Jacob Torgerson, who had a son Magnus.)

Richard Campbell Roach married Roach and Ruth Audrey Bell Roach. Children: Richard (married Pricilla, children Tirza, Temagin), William (Uncle Bill, married Deb), Robert D. Roach, Margaret (married Steve Hasskamp, children Jennifer, Michelle)

Robert David Roach (b. Elmhurst, IL., 9-25, 1955) married 1st wife Carla Rae Paulson-Roach-Jensen* (b. 11-1, 1953, Anchorage, Alaska^[3]) , 2nd wife Laraine Therese Gaddis-Roach** (b. Bethesda, Maryland, 9-27, 1956). Children (by Carla): David Nathaniel Roach, Sarah Joy, Hannah Rae (married Kaleb Tuimula), Rachel Lee.

* Carla Rae Paulson-Roach-Jensen: Dad Stanley Howard Paulson. Mother (Stanley's 1st wife), Leona Bertha Lemke. 2nd wife "Grandma Marie". Leona Lemke-Paulson's sister is Lorna Lemke-Campell. Carla is now married to Barry Jensen.

** Laraine's children by Brad Dernier are Justin, Dane, Amelia Rose.

David Nathaniel Roach (7-10-1979) married Keturah Ann Steidl (12-25-1978) April 28, 2001. Children: Abigail Chloe (12-8-2001), Isaac David (4-18-2003), Jonas Aaron Happy (2-4-2005), Noah James (due April 2006)
